1. Overview
The Gilded Registry is a digital product sold as a one-time purchase for $55.00 USD through the Etsy marketplace. The Product is delivered instantly as a digital download upon completed payment. Because digital files can be copied and retained after delivery, and cannot be physically "returned," our general policy is that all sales are final.
However, we are committed to fair dealing and fully respect the statutory consumer protection rights of our customers in all jurisdictions. Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude, restrict, or modify any rights or remedies that you may have under mandatory consumer protection legislation in your country or region of residence.
2. Consumer Rights by Jurisdiction
We sell The Gilded Registry to customers worldwide. The following is a summary of key consumer protection frameworks that may apply to your purchase. Your statutory rights under these laws are not affected by this policy.
2.1 Australia — Australian Consumer Law
Under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010), consumers have statutory guarantees that apply to the supply of goods and services, including digital products. If the Product fails to meet a consumer guarantee (for example, if it is not of acceptable quality, not fit for purpose, or does not match its description), you may be entitled to a remedy, including a refund, replacement, or repair, depending on whether the failure is major or minor. These guarantees cannot be excluded by contract.
2.2 European Union — Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU
Under EU consumer protection law, consumers purchasing digital content have a right of withdrawal (cooling-off period) of 14 days from the date of the contract. However, for digital content that is not supplied on a tangible medium, this right of withdrawal may be waived if:
- The consumer has given prior express consent to begin the performance (i.e. delivery) of the digital content before the end of the 14-day withdrawal period; and
- The consumer has acknowledged that they thereby lose their right of withdrawal.
By completing your purchase and downloading the Product, you expressly consent to immediate delivery and acknowledge the loss of your right of withdrawal. If you did not provide such consent, or if the Product is defective, you may still be entitled to a remedy under applicable national laws implementing the Directive. This applies to all EU member states, including but not limited to the Netherlands, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, and Portugal.
2.3 United Kingdom — Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013
UK consumers have a 14-day cancellation period for online purchases of digital content. Similar to the EU framework, this right may be waived upon express consent to immediate delivery and acknowledgement that the right of cancellation is lost. In addition, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 provides that digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for a particular purpose, and as described. If the Product fails to meet these standards, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund.
2.4 United States
In the United States, refund policies for digital products are generally governed by the seller's terms and the policies of the marketplace platform. There is no federal cooling-off period for digital product purchases. Some states may have specific consumer protection statutes; your rights under any applicable state law are not affected by this policy. We also abide by Etsy's Refund Policy for digital items.
2.5 Indonesia — Consumer Protection Law No. 8 of 1999
Indonesian consumers are protected under Law No. 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection (Undang-Undang Perlindungan Konsumen). This law provides consumers with rights including the right to comfort, security, and safety, the right to accurate information, and the right to compensation if goods or services do not meet the agreed terms. If the Product does not function as described, Indonesian consumers may be entitled to a remedy.
2.6 Brazil — Consumer Defence Code
Brazilian consumers are protected under the Codigo de Defesa do Consumidor (Consumer Defence Code, Law No. 8.078/1990). This includes the right to clear and accurate product information, protection against misleading advertising, and remedies for defective products. For purchases made outside of a physical commercial establishment (such as online purchases), Brazilian consumers may have a right to cancel the purchase within seven (7) days of receipt. If the Product is defective and we are unable to resolve the issue, you may be entitled to a refund under this law.
3. Exceptions to the No-Refund Policy
Notwithstanding our general no-refund policy for digital products, we will consider a refund or other appropriate remedy in the following circumstances:
- Defective product: The Product file is corrupted, fails to open, or is materially non-functional in a supported browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari on their current or immediately preceding major version), and we are unable to provide a working replacement or fix within a reasonable timeframe.
- Not as described: The Product materially fails to match its description on the Etsy product listing, and the discrepancy substantially impairs its intended use.
- Duplicate purchase: You accidentally purchased the Product more than once. Please contact us with your Etsy order numbers and we will process a refund for the duplicate.
- Statutory entitlement: You are entitled to a refund under the mandatory consumer protection laws of your jurisdiction, as outlined in Section 2 above.
4. How to Request a Refund
If you believe you are entitled to a refund, please contact us within fourteen (14) days of your purchase date using one of the following methods:

5. Refund Process
Upon receiving your refund request, we will follow this process:
- Acknowledgement: We will acknowledge receipt of your request within two (2) business days.
- Review: We will review your request and may ask for additional information or attempt to resolve the reported issue. We aim to complete our review within five (5) business days of receiving all necessary information.
- Troubleshooting: If your issue relates to a technical problem, we may first attempt to provide a fix, a replacement file, or technical guidance to resolve the issue before processing a refund.
- Decision: We will notify you of our decision by email. If a refund is approved, it will be processed through the original payment method via the Etsy platform.
- Processing time: Approved refunds are typically processed within five (5) to ten (10) business days. Actual processing time may vary depending on your payment provider or financial institution.
